Coming Soon: The Sorcerer's Apprentice
I saw the new trailer for this movie when I went to see Alice in wonderland. It complete slipped my mind till now.

The movie has potential. It's got Jerry Bruckhiemer. And Nicholas Cage (if you think he's a good actor). Anyway the film is based off of The Sorcerer's Apprentice in Fantasia. The new trailer shows a brief clip from this scene. Dave is cleaning his teachers lair and uses magic to clean up (2:13 in clip below). Take a peak:

Interesting, huh? Movie comes out June 16, 2010.

Avoid The Wolfman
I got dragged into seeing The Wolfman last night. I really don't recommend it, not because it's gory and grotesque (you have to expect that in a film like this), but because it was predictable and in general not well done.

The openning was bad, not the legend part. The part were a female voice briefly explains: a man pure in hear will turn into a wolf on a full moon. Albeit, that really doesn't make much sense because the origional wolfman was NOT pure of heart, but the film was trying to give a nodd to the classic horror movies. The part that was abrupt was Gwen's letter to Lawrence. It seemed out of place, out of order somehow. Story wise it was important because it introduced the hero, but it wasn't done well. I felt it was rushed so that the movie could move on to the wolf parts. If I'm going to see a movie with a lot of gore, there had better be a good story to back it.

The movie was completely predictable. I guessed who the other wolfman was right away and the ending was unnecessary. I still fail to understand how only true love can save him if that meant only true love can kill him. Whatever. I think a lot of my resentment of this film was getting dragged to a movie I didn't really want to see in the first place, oh and there were no pretty guys to look at. -wow that sounded shallow, but whatever.

All in all, don't go see The Wolfman if you want a decent story. All it's good for is being a slasher flick.

Opening this Weekend:
I was origionally going to give a brief synopsis and trailer for each wide released movie comming out, but there are many sites devoted to that that will give you numerous trailers, clips, pictures and an unbiased synopsis. So, instead I will just review movies I think might be good.

The Green Zone: Origionally I had no interest I. Seeing this movie. I thought it was just another war movie taking place in the middle east with Matt Damon playing a Jason Bourne character, but the trailer I saw last night revealed the plot. Matt Damon plays Roy Miller (or David Webb?) who works by himself in the middleast trying to trackdown missing weapons and money. He comes across a big cover up and attempts to reveal it. Here is the exact trailer:

So all in all, this looks like a movie my dad and I would enjoy.
