Yeah, I know it's not Wednesday...

The Phantom:
Last night (and today), Syfy has aired The Phantom, an updated tale about a masked vigilante that fights evil, complete with purple suit and skulls. A lot goes on in this mini-series/tv movie. This Kit Walker (number 22) grew up an orphan, Chris Moore, a law student and Parkor (sp?) expert. The stunts gets him into trouble and that's how they find him. Both the Singh Brotherhood and Bpaa-That (The Phantom's organization). He agrees to become the Phantom after his adopted parents are killed and the Singh Brotherhood try to kill him. A lot happens in the four hours, which is a good thing. There is a lot of different things falling into place: a weird mind control technology thingy, the Sing Brotherhood going after Kit and his friends, a mole in Bpaa-That, the Brotherhood wanting a peace activist dead, a budding romance, and Kit becoming the Phantom. It all came together nicely. The only complaint I had was the bad guy was dumb at the end. I saw his demise coming a mile away.

(Minor Spoiler time!) There were two twists. The first was really obvious, that may be because they used the real actor's voice for the traitor and it was obvious who's voice it was. The second I got right before the big reveal at the end. It fooled me a bit, It was brilliant. It of course led into a cliff hanger, one I hope that will spawn a TV show. We'll see, Syfy seems to do a good job of burying potentially good shows with really crappy D-Movies.

So, for being a cheesy SyFy mini-series, I liked it. It wasn't perfect, but I'd definitely rate this mini-series a cheesy four out of five.

Toy Story 3:
I don't have a review for this movie because I'm probably not going to see it. If you want to submit a review in the comment section, feel free. How would you rate Toy Story 3?

Supernatural:
Yes! There will be a season 6. And Jensen Ackles is set to direct one of the episodes (episode 3). I'm looking forward to see how he does. Other news, Madhouse, creators of Death Note, are creating a Supernatural Anime Series. I wonder if, when translated into English, they'll use the real actor's voices. I hope so. Anyway, here are two preliminary sketches.

That's it for now. I'll write more on Wednesday including more news on what's coming out this weekend and any more rumors I come across.

  1. TOY STORY is amazing. I think you're not being fair by not seeing it. The action sequence in just the first 5 minutes is better then anything Micheal Bay has every directed, the leads show more depth of character then anything Megan Fox or Zac Efron has ever done or could ever hope to do. Toy Story 3 is able to draw more emotion and tears then a marathon of Oprah, followed by the end of season 4 of Doctor Who and followed by the End Of Time, followed by The Notebook, Hotel Rwanda, Schindler's List, The Dead Poet's Society, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, My Girl, Boys Don't Cry, I Am Sam, and My Sister's Keeper ( I almost don't agree with this one).

There isn't a need to watch this in 3D, though I understand it to still be good in 3D.
