Brought to Life at Warehouse 13...

Movie Review: Inception
The movie was about Cobb (Dicaprio) the best extractor in the business. His team botches a job, but the person they were supposed to steel secrets from, Sato (Watanabe) hires the Cobb and his college (Gordon-Levitt) to plant an idea called Inception. They have to plant the idea for a company heir to break up his company. Cobb will then get to go home (I'm not going to mention why he can't. No spoilers here.). Ideas are much harder to plant than to steel. Cobb has to reassemble a new team and a complex anti-heist with three dreams within dreams. There is one more problem, Cobb's subconscious keeps sabotaging the job. The movie was great, well casted, the plot was really intricate, but didn't lose me. No plot holes, just sheer brilliance. I wish my dreams were like that. The only thing I can complain about is the opening. It starts at the end of the story and goes back to the beginning. It was a little out of place and unnecessary. The begging heist would have been good enough. This movie delivers a five out of five.

Warehouse 13:
Last night's episode was adorable. The team track down an artifact in their own back yard. A strange artifact projecting clips of old movies that are completely tangible... and by that I mean real. Things could actually hit you... as Peter can attest. We also meet a new person who is most likely going to be Claudia's love interest. I don't know if it was that obvious or if I read it in a spoiler. Oh well.

Eureka:
The second episode has the group locked in this alternate future. Any possibility of getting back through the time-bridge-thing were dashed when Einstein's bridge thing blew up. So the six of them (Carter, Fargo, Allison, Henry, Joe, and Dr-from-past-whos-name-I-forget) are stuck in the alternative future. More things have changed. Fargo is head of GD and is apparently a totalitarian boss, Jo is head of security at GD because the robo-cop from season 3 is Deputy. (I'm glad he's in it. i like that character). And fun stuff. They can't tell people they are from an alternate time-line though, the DOD has protocols to arrest people from another timeline so they have to keep it all on the DL. This next episode looks like we'll be dealing with what Fargo of this timeline has done at GD: looks like he pissed people off. Can't wait.

Opening this Weekend (Synopsis by !Yahoo):
Salt: A new Spy-drama movie. Apparently it's supposed to be a little 007, a little Jason Bourne and a little MacGyver all with the intrigue of: is she innocent or not. It looks like it has a lot of potential. I'm definitely going to try and see it this weekend.
When becoming a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. But when a defector accuses her of being a Russian sleeper spy, her loyalty is tested to the limit. Salt goes on the run to clear her name, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture, protect her husband, and stay one step ahead of her colleagues at the CIA.
Apparently the script had Salt portrayed as a man. I like the fact that it's was changed to a female character. There really aren't that many capable, kick ass female characters that aren't a sex object as well. Refreshing to say the least.

Ramona and Beezus:  Don't really know what this movie is about. I just know I'm not really their target audience. It stars the Disney girl from Wizard of Waverly Place and everytime I read Beezus I keep thinking it's Jesus and that's not right... here is the synopsis.
Based on the characters from the timeless best-selling children's books written by Beverly Cleary, "Ramona and Beezus" follows the misadventures of the mischievous and accident-prone kid Ramona Quimby and her overachieving older sister Beezus as they try to help save their family's home on Klickitat Street. This heartwarming G-rated film is one that the entire family can enjoy, from the little ones meeting the girls for the first time, to the parents who grew up with the stories.
Rumors Galore:
-Joseph Gorden-Levitt (that's right, from Inception) will apparently be the riddler in Batman 3. It's not set in stone yet, but it's looking real possible. Nolan will be directing the last installment of the Batman series, at least it's the last with him directing. Nolan doesn't like 3D (yes!) but he may shoot the entire film in IMAX.

Anticipatron TV!
The Anticipatron is a term coined by Rotten Tomato Show. They judge movies based off their trailers. I'm doing the same here, but with TV shows.
-The Event: Could the title get any more vague. The trailer isn't helpful much either. Something happens and blah blah blah. For all we know it could be the main character's car won't start. The scripts will have to be awesome and the show to be paced right in order for the show to last the season.
-Nikita: A TV show based on La Femme Nakita. Talk about femme fetals, this movie practically coined it. What has me worried though is the fact that the show is on the CW. The only good show that network has is Supernatural and that got started when it was still the WB.
-The Cape: Another comic-book inspired/based show. I like comic books and all, but still it's getting a little old. And with Syfy's the phantom out just last month, I feel like the plot for both are similar. Okay, not the same, but still: One good guy against a whole slew of bad guys forcing the good guy underground. This does have potential. I just hope the script and pacing can support the concept.

Oh, The last Scott Pilgrim Book is finally out.  Just in time for me to read it and reread the whole series before the movie comes out in August. yey!

Also, Comic-con is this week! If anyone want's to share any insights on new geeky shows, movies, etc. leave a comment.

Inception This!

News/Rumor Galore:
Tron Legacy: Pixar was brought in to help spruce up the storyline of Tron Legacy. A rough version was shown to John Lasseter, Ed Catmull, The Incredibles director Brad Bird and Toy Story 3 screenwriter Michael Arndt, according to Entertainment Weekly. Reshoots will help implement the new changes. This can be a good thing. Pixar is known for strong stories.

The Avengers: Edward Norton announced on Facebook that he will not be reprising the role of the Hulk in the Avengers. Also Joss Whedon may direct. We'll know for sure after next week's ComicCon. So that's exciting.

Coming out this Weekend (Synopsis by !Yahoo Movies):
The Sorcerer's Apprentice: It came out today, but whatever. Originally it was set to come out Friday, but my guess is when they found out how big Inception was/is going to be, they changed the date. Reviews so far aren't that great, but one of the sources is the Washington Post and they don't like any movie so grain of salt time. Here is the synopsis:
Balthazar Blake, a loopy but powerful sorcerer, recruits a reluctant physics student, Dave Stutler, as his apprentice. While trying to survive his crash course in magic, Dave learns that he has become part of an ancient battle between good and evil that threatens the existence of Manhattan. And to think Mickey Mouse thought he had problems with a couple of crazy mops.
Here is a weird Fantasia remix:

Inception: I've heard a lot of good things about his movie. If I only see one movie this weekend it will be this one. I did her a review stating that it might be too smart, but I'm fine with that. Here is the synopsis:
In this Age of Information, ideas are more valuable that cash or bondIn this Age of Information, ideas are more valuable that cash or bonds. History teaches us that anything worth a fortune becomes the target of thieves. Enter Cobb and his team, who are able to enter people's minds while they sleep and steal information. But the world of dreams is a dangerous place, including the threat of being trapped inside forever.
I am really looking forward to this film. It looks beautiful and intriging and I love Christopher Nolan. Here is a quick behind the scene look:

Scott Pilgrim Stuff:
Here is a new featurette about the movie. I'm excited. I still recomend reading the comic books as well.

TV Recaps:
Warehouse 13: This second season has really impressed me. Last night's episode was a geek's dream. Two actors from firefly, comic book heros, and a hot chick in cat suit. Beyond that, I love how the show has evovled. Pete and Myka no longer hate each other, they can effectively work as a team. Claudia finally forgives Leena while Leena is still reeling with what MacPhearson did to her. And Artie learns to let MacPhearson, or rather who MacPhearson used to be go. The escape of H.G. Wells wasn't brought up in the episode, but Leena's new weirdness might be connected. We'll find out soon enough.

Covert Affairs (Spoilers): Last night I stayed up late, just for this show. A new Spy drama about the CIA's new recruit. It was charming, but I think they may have introduced her ex-boyfriend being a spy too soon. I really want a Burn Notice/Covert Affairs cross over now.

Eureka (Spoilers of first episode): What the crap?!? The writers are changing it up. I just got really sad when Zane and Lupo's relationship got ruined by the whole time thing. And again Allison and Jack don't seem meant to be. Tess is back. I felt like I missed something. I don't remember Tess breaking up with Jack. I thought she got him the plane ticket and that was that... I think the writers took a little liberty on that.

Huzzah! TV Premiers and great movies abound.

Late post. Sorry, things have been getting crazy.

Movie Review: Knight and Day
I'm not going to lie, I totally went into the movie expecting it to be crappy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the movie was pretty decent. No academy award winner, but a pretty good movie. Forgetting all the weirdness around Tom Cruise, I think he successfully returned to his role as the action hero. This hero is a slightly crazy, but I would be too if I was a spy who just got burned. We spend the whole movie in June's (Cameron Diaz) perspective and most of the movie we're trying to figure out if Roy (Tom Cruise) is a good guy or bad guy. The movie didn't do that great a job of hiding it, but it wasn't too obvious. Anyway, Roy accidentally gets June involved in all his CIA burn nonsense and has to constantly try and get her out of it. Good thing he works protection detail for a living. She freaks out, like any person would and is constantly getting drugged or knocked out so that the good guy can take care of the situation. Don't worry he gets his comeuppance. So moral of the story: Knight and Day was a surprisingly decent film. Not great, but good. I'll definitely add this movie to my cheese list, but I'll want to see it again. Knight and Day gets a 3 out of 5.

TV Premiers:
Warehouse 13: The first episode of the second season aired last night. I caught most of it, I'll definitely have to watch it again on Hulu to get all the details, but I saw enough to know what happens. Great start, the wrapped up the MacPhearson bit and yes Artie survives!! Way to keep us in suspense until the show aired! Now we have a new bad guy, or should I say gal? Firefly's Jewel Staite and Sean Maher will star in next weeks episode.

Eureka: Eureka airs this Friday at 9PM.
In the season opener, Jack and friends get zapped back to 1947, where they're suddenly at Camp Eureka, the town's precursor. Jack says "You gotta be kidding me" a lot, and people comment on how Henry won't stand out because even in 1947 nobody would look twice at an African American mechanic. There is a nod to Terminator lore. And in the second episode, Jack says, "Another day, another runaway robot." [io9.com]
Haven: Airs right after Eureka at 10PM
Our main character, FBI agent Audrey Parker, is kooky, obsessive and likable, and she has a penchant for discovering the supernatural wherever she goes. Her colleagues think she's crazy, and so does she sometimes. And then she stumbles on the eponymous town, where every week we'll meet another person with a supernatural affliction. These people don't have superpowers, they're just afflicted.[io9.com]

Out this Weekend (synopses provided by !Yahoo):
Despicable Me (opening this Friday):
It's hard enough being a super-villain these days. Competing with your archrival, one-upping your last heist, managing an army of minions... you might as well shoot for the moon. And stealing the moon is despicable Gru's next plan -- until three little orphaned girls invite themselves into his secret suburban underground lair and declare him their potential dad. Will Margo, Edith and Agnes be Gru's greatest challenge yet?
I haven't heard the best reviews for this movie. I heard a lot of the talent is wasted on the script being ehh. But I did hear it was a good kids movie. All that hype and the teaser trailers from a year ago have apparently amounted to nothing. Aww. If you do see the movie and disagree, please post what you would rate the movie.

Predators (opening this Friday):
The first time, a single Predator came to our planet to kill humans for sport. In the new version, a mercenary named Royce is abducted and dropped onto an unknown planet. Along with seven other convicts, cold-blooded killers, and elite human combatants, Royce realizes that this world they're on is a game preserve, and they are the ones being hunted. Outmanned and outgunned, Royce leads his band of survivors against the alien threat to determine which species is truly the most dangerous in the universe.
I haven't seen anything in the Predators series. I'm assuming this is a remake of the famous original with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Feel free to comment on weather you think this movie will be good or not.

Coming Soon:
The Sorcerer's Apprentice will open Wednesday to try and get some money before Inception comes out. The reviews for Inception look very promising. It may be the best movie of the summer.
Anyway, here is a look at The Sorcerer's Apprentice (sorry for the over the top Disney-ness):
